SAMSUNG'S BUDGET FLAGSHIP | GALAXY F62 | THE TECHNOBYTE |

SAMSUNG'S BUDGET FLAGSHIP | GALAXY F62 | THE TECHNOBYTE |

Samsung recently unveiled their Galaxy F62. It is their second phone in the F-series. The F-series is aimed at the Millenials just like the M series. Samsung has brought the F series in collaboration with Flipkart.

The F stands for Full-on. F series is aimed at offering high performance at a relatively lower price. The first phone of this series was the f41 and it was aimed at the mid-range segment. The F62 is for the upper mid-range segment and it competes with higher mid-rangers like the Oneplus Nord and Realme X7 pro.

Samsung generally offers relatively lower specifications when compared to its Chinese competitors. But things have changed with F62. We’ll dive deep into the F62 in this blog. Do subscribe if you are new here and share it with your friends.

Performance:

One of the main downsides of Samsung mid-rangers is their processor. The Chinese competitors offer much better performance than Samsung. But in the case of F62, things have changed. F62 hosts Exynos 9625. This is a two-year-old Flagship processor and can be seen in devices like the Galaxy Note 10 series.

It is much better than Exynos 9611, which is commonly seen in Samsung mid-rangers. Exynos 9625 is built on seven-nanometer architecture and is still a flagship processor.

To give a better perspective, Exynos 9625 can be compared with Snapdragon 765G and 9625 is better than 765G in both CPU and GPU. It can handle day-to-day tasks seamlessly. It scored an Antutu benchmark score of 452000+.

Battery:

The battery capacity is the main USP(Unique Selling Point) of this smartphone. One of the disadvantages of Galaxy Note 10 was its battery life. But F62 has a massive 7000 mah battery. The battery life should be pretty good in F62. Also, there's a wired power share option. You can connect a type-C to type-C cable from your phone and can charge another phone.

In terms of charging, it has a 25W fast charger included in the box. It takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 100.

Display:

Samsung is always known for their best in class displays. F62 has a 6.7 inches FHD+ Amoled panel. The colors are punchy and vivid. The refresh rate is only 60Hz, while its competitors like the OP Nord and Realme X7 pro offer 90Hz and 120Hz refresh rate displays.

Camera:

The camera set up in F62 is as same as the setup in Galaxy F41. It has a quad-camera set up in the back. The primary camera is a 64-megapixel camera with  f/1.8 aperture. Even though F41 and F62 have the same camera setup, F62 is expected to produce better pictures than F41 since it has a more powerful processor.

The second sensor is a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 123-degree field of view. The last two are a five-megapixel depth and a five-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, It has a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and face unlock. It also has support for 4K@30fps in both front and back and it also has support for single take.

Biometrics:

Eventhough F62 has an Amoled display, it does not have an in-display fingerprint scanner. The finger print scanner is given on the right, which also acts a power button. F62 also has face unlock feature and quickly unlocks in both ways.

Advantages:

  • Large battery life.
  • Flagship processor.
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack.
  • Exceptional pricing.

Disadvantages:

  • No 120 Hz display.
  • No In-display fingerprint scanner.
  • Plastic body.

Conclusion:

Overall F62 is a really good phone, especially from a tier-one brand. Samsung’s One UI is very reliable and smooth these days. F62 starts at 23999 for the 6GB RAM variant and 25999 for the 8GB RAM variant.

In my opinion, the 6GB RAM variant is the best choice. In android, 6GB RAM is more than enough. There won’t be any major differences between 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM, considering the storage is 128GB for both the RAM variants. If you are looking to buy a smartphone in the 20 to 30K price segment, then F62 is a choice you should definitely check out.
