POCO F2 PRO FIRST LOOK | PRICE & SPECIFICATIONS | IS IT WORTH?

POCO F2 PRO | IS IT WORTHY ENOUGH?

The Poco f1 was a game changer back in 2018. The sole reason for its success is the processor used in it. It housed the snapdragon 845 which was the flagship processor of 2018. They brought this processor at a price which was unbelievable. Even after two years of its release, it still remains a good value for money smartphone.

This phone created a brand value for Poco. Everyone was eagerly waiting for the launch of its successor and finally Poco has released specifications for the new upcoming flagship killer smartphone Poco f2 pro. But these specs doesn’t sound any different from a regular flagship including the price. At 40k(expected price)INR this phone takes its place as a flagship but not as a game-changer. This is due to its European pricing(499€).

I am not criticizing about the brand but only its upcoming smartphone. Because this is Poco's third smartphone to release in India, while the first two were a huge success.
Moving on to the specs,

Performance:

This is where Poco never made a compromise. F2 pro houses the latest and greatest snapdragon 865 processor. This processor is a beast. It can run anything on the playstore and can multitask seamlessly.

 Optics:

The  F2 pro has a quad camera setup. The main camera is a 64 megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor. This is the same sensor used in their X2. It can shoot some really good images under broad daylight. It also has a 13 megapixel wide angle camera. A 5 megapixel macro camera and a 2 megapixel depth sensor completes the quad camera setup. In the front, it has a 20 megapixel pop-up camera.

It is to be noted that during the launch of Poco X2, they said pop-up cameras could malfunction at any point and they will be using punch-hole cameras in their upcoming smartphones. But there is nothing to complain about the pop-up camera they are offering because pop-up cameras offer better security and more privacy .

Display:

Here things take a different turn. It has a Full HD+ display but with a mediocre refresh rate panel. They are offering a 60 hertz panel at 40k(expected price). Nowadays 90hz panels can be seen in devices that are below 20k. F2pro's competitors like the Oneplus 8, IQOO, all offer better refresh rate screens at this price range.

This is the only phone to offer a 60 hertz  panel at 40k(expected price). In my opinion, at least 90 hertz is required by all smartphones in this price range according to 2020 standard.

Battery:

It offers a 4,700 mah battery with a 30 watt fast charger included in the box. It can charge 0 to 100 in 63 minutes approximately. Since the processor has better battery optimization algorithms, battery life is expected to be good on this smartphone.

Others:

A nice additional touch is that they have retained the 3.5mm headphone jack. It has to be noted that this phone has no IP certification for water and dust resistance.

 Price :

Though, they have made some compromises, it is still a good phone. But are these specs enough to price this at 40k(expected price)?  Definitely No. The redmi k30 pro which was released in China was renamed as the Poco F2 pro.

Advantages:
  •    Performance
  • 5G connectivity
  • Camera versatility
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Battery life
Disadvantages:
  • Lack of a higher refresh rate screen
  •      No IP certification
Conclusion:
Will I buy this?

If things take a turn and if Poco can price this around thirty thousand rupees like the Chinese pricing of Redmi k30 pro which is the Poco f2pro in India, then it would be an awesome phone.

But if things didn't turn out well and if they had to price this at nearly 38k or 40k, then it has a lot of other competitors like the Oneplus 8, the newly released iPhone SE, IQOO.

If you are planning to buy a smartphone at 40k, will you choose the Poco F2 pro? Leave a comment below.

P.S : If you share this, it would make my day😉
