5 reasons to buy the Oneplus buds Z | The Technobyte | 

During the last couple of years, earphones have changed a lot. Truly Wireless earphones have become a trend and many brands started making their own truly wireless earphones. A new trend is that they launch it alongside a smartphone and markets it such that the experience would be a lot better when combined with the smartphone. Oneplus is no exception to this trend. A couple of months back Oneplus launched their first truly wireless earphones Oneplus buds along with the Nord. The buds were priced competitively and were of good quality as well. 

But recently before the 8T launch, they tweeted about upcoming truly wireless earphones. Leaks suggested that it will be a lite edition of the buds. As expected, Oneplus launched the Oneplus buds Z along with the 8T. The buds Z have been priced aggressively. In this blog, we’ll see my initial impressions and whether it is worth the buck.

5 reasons to buy the Oneplus buds Z:

1.Build and comfort:

Most of the TWS(truly wireless) earphones somehow look exactly like the Airpods. I think brands coincidentally come up with a design just like the AirPods. Well, jokes apart, the design has been refreshed from their original buds and the buds Z feature silicon tip in-ear design. Personally, I always prefer the silicon in-ear tip design rather than half in-ear design as it is more comfortable. 

It has a stem design with dual microphones for better call quality. The touch area is at the back and the overall design of the buds Z is not complainable. The case resembles the Galaxy buds plus case and it easily fits in our pocket. In terms of design & comfort, I think Oneplus has done a pretty good job.

2.Battery:

The main reason why people always refrain from buying TWS earphones is because of its battery life. There's a common misconception among people that TWS earphones would run out of juice quickly.   The Buds Z has five hours of stand-alone playback and 20 hours of battery when combined with the case. The case has a 450 mah battery. 

The original buds had 30 hours when combined with the case. Battery life is expected to be pretty solid on the OnePlus buds Z. It also supports fast charging and provides 3 hours of playback time in 10 minutes charge.

3.Compatibility:

When the Oneplus buds were released, it can be used to its full potential only when paired with it an Oneplus phone like changing touch controls showing the battery percentage in each bud. Non-Oneplus users couldn't use it to its fullest. Whereas now Oneplus has developed a new app called Hey Melody(yet to come). 

Using this app, non Oneplus users can customize the buds’ features as they like. This is really a good decision from Oneplus because all the other brands have full customization on their TWS earphones at this price range.

4.Specifications:

In terms of audio quality, buds Z feature a 10mm dynamic driver along with bass boost technology. The audio quality is expected to be really good with clear vocals and thumping bass since the previous generation earphones’ audio quality was really good. It also has a wear detection sensor. So music will pause when you remove and play when you put it on again. It is IP55 water and dust resistant certified and can easily handle splashes and dirt.

5.Price:

This is the deciding factor. There are so many TWS earphones in this price range. The price of the buds Z is 3000 INR. The price of the original buds was 5000 INR.

Conclusion:

There aren't any additional features like active noise cancellation, wireless charging. But at this price range buds, Z offers clean audio, High battery life, and good build quality. I think buds Z is really a good deal for 3,000.
